1. Terms of Service

Effective Date: January 1, 2025

1.1 Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account on ALIGNT, you ("the Subscriber") agree to be bound by these terms. If you are using the service on behalf of a company (e.g., a Cleaning or Security firm), you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity.

1.2 The Service

ALIGNT provides a cloud-based Short-Term Rental operations platform. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the platform for managing your STR properties and cleaning operations.

1.3 Subscription & Fees

Pricing: Free tier includes 1 property with manual scheduling. Pro tier is $9/month per property for automated sync and dispatch. Future pricing changes will be communicated prior to implementation.

Billing: During the beta period, no billing applies. When billing is implemented, invoices will be generated monthly. Failure to pay within 7 days of the invoice date may result in temporary suspension of service.

Taxes: You are responsible for all applicable taxes (VAT, GST, etc.) based on your jurisdiction when billing is implemented.

1.4 Subscriber Responsibilities

Cleaner Consent: You are the "Data Controller." You must obtain explicit consent from your cleaners/contractors before using ALIGNT features like GPS tracking, geofenced time tracking, and photo verification.

Accuracy: You are responsible for the accuracy of the invoices generated through our platform.

1.5 Termination & Data Portability

You may cancel at any time. In compliance with the 2025 EU Data Act, you have the right to export your data (Jobs, Workers, Attendance) in a machine-readable format (CSV) for 30 days following termination.

2. Privacy Policy

2.1 Information We Collect

Administrative Data: Name, email, and billing information for account owners.

Cleaner Data: Name, contact details, and payment information for Stripe Connect payouts.

Location & Attendance: We collect GPS coordinates and timestamps only when a cleaner is within 200m of a property and starts a job. We do not track cleaners when they are off-duty.

Property & Booking Data: Property addresses, booking dates, guest information from calendar sync (Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com), and smart lock access codes.

Financial Data: Records of fines and hourly rates as inputted by the Admin.

2.2 How We Use Data

We use this data to:

Facilitate job scheduling and real-time tracking.
Generate automated invoices.
Provide performance analytics to the Subscriber.

2.3 Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Contractual Necessity: We process data to fulfill the service you purchased.

Legitimate Interest: We process cleaner data to ensure quality control, verify job completion, and facilitate automated payments.

2.4 Your Rights

Under international law, users have the right to access, correct, or delete their personal data. Requests can be sent to support@aligntai.com.

2.5 Security

We use JWT-based authentication and AES-256 encryption for data at rest. While we take every precaution, no internet transmission is 100% secure.

3. Data Processing Agreement (DPA)

This document governs the relationship between ALIGNT (Processor) and the Business (Controller).

3.1 Scope & Role

The Subscriber acts as the Data Controller (deciding how and why worker data is collected). ALIGNT acts as the Data Processor (processing the data according to the Subscriber's instructions).

3.2 Data Security

The Processor shall implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including:

Role-based access control (RBAC).
Regular security audits of API endpoints.
Secure data backups.

3.3 Sub-Processors

The Subscriber authorizes ALIGNT to use third-party sub-processors (e.g., AWS for hosting, Supabase for database services). ALIGNT remains fully liable for the actions of these sub-processors.

3.4 Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach, ALIGNT will notify the Subscriber without undue delay (and no later than 48 hours) after becoming aware of the breach.

4. Cookie & Tracking Policy

4.1 What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device to help the ALIGNT Progressive Web App (PWA) function efficiently.

4.2 How We Use Them

Essential Cookies: Necessary for keeping you logged in (JWT tokens) and ensuring the security of your session.

Performance Cookies: Used to track app loading speeds and UI responsiveness to improve the user experience.
